FRENCH MUSIC DAY
F
ête de la Musique
A French tradition, held on 21st June,  Fête de la musique, is a music celebration where citizens of a city are allowed and urged to play music outside in their neighborhoods or in public spaces and parks. Free concerts are also organized, where musicians play for fun and not for payment.  The first all-day musical celebration on the day of the summer solstice was originated by Jack Lang, Minister of Culture of France, as well as by Maurice Fleuret; it was celebrated in Paris in 1982. Music Day later became celebrated in 120 countries around the world.

.Local Band" Wiz Kid and the Biscuits
Wiz Kid and the Biscuits are a band from Waimea College that make genre-busting beats. There are four members including, Eva Fowler, (Rockquest winner of the mains musicianship award 2018) Zak Milson, Lucy Pritchard and Jonty Bond. They are not afraid to put all musical ideas on the table and will be sure to get the crowd moving with their musicianship.

A great night's entertainment for the annual Fête de la musique - Music celebration!

I Nu are a New Caledonian group with French, Melanesian Folk and easy-listening music.
